Role Summary
As a Supervisor / Machine Driver, you’ll lead day-to-day site operations while operating plant machinery to keep production running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage staff deployment, monitor H&S compliance, and ensure materials are processed, loaded, and recorded correctly.
Key Accountabilities
* Supervise daily operations, allocating staff and setting clear objectives.
* Operate mobile plant (Forklift, Loading Shovel, 360° Excavator) safely and efficiently.
* Complete daily machine checks, report defects, and carry out routine maintenance tasks.
* Ensure correct PPE use and compliance with all health & safety systems.
* Load/unload vehicles, rotate waste, and maintain good site housekeeping.
* Liaise with departments and escalate issues to the Regional Manager.
* Book outgoing loads, keep material levels to a minimum, and complete all paperwork accurately.
* Manage the site email account and respond promptly to queries.
Experience And Skills
* Proven supervisory or team-leading experience in a waste, recycling, or industrial setting.
* Competent and certified to operate relevant plant machinery.
* Strong understanding of health & safety, risk assessments, and compliance.
* Good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
* Proactive and hands-on, with the ability to support across site activities.
