TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a fast-growing and highly regarded accountancy practice in Guildford that is looking to recruit an Assistant Manager to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to step into a progressive role within a dynamic outsourcing and advisory function. The Role
As an Assistant Manager, you will work closely with senior leadership, supporting with a varied client portfolio while taking on increasing responsibility for client management, reviewing work and team support.
This is a broad role offering exposure to management accounts, tax, bookkeeping and advisory services.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Director with their client portfolio and acting as a key point of contact for client queries
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing advice and practical solutions
* Preparing and reviewing management accounts for a wide range of clients, including SMEs and sole traders
* Overseeing bookkeeping and outsourcing functions
* Preparing and reviewing tax and VAT returns
* Liaising with internal teams across multiple service lines
* Supporting with staff development, including reviewing work and providing feedback to junior team members
* Collecting, organising and analysing data for internal reporting and client insights
* Contributing to business development activities and identifying growth opportunities
* Gaining exposure to FP&A and financial management, including reporting, expense tracking and analysis
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will likely have:
* ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
* Strong experience preparing management accounts within an accountancy practice
* Experience reviewing and supervising junior staff work
* Confidence managing client relationships and handling queries independently
* Strong technical knowledge with the ability to apply this in practice
* Experience using Xero and cloud accounting systems
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* The ability to manage workloads, deadlines and budgets effectively
* A proactive and solution-focused mindset
