Year 1 General Teaching Assistant Full-time contract Primary Schools Hackney £70 - £85 per day We are urgently looking for teaching assistants across the borough of Hackney to work on a full-time and supply basis in a range of primary schools. In the primary age groups (KS1/KS2), you will be based in a more structured classroom supporting children to access learning activities across English, Maths and various other subjects. Many of the roles we have are for teaching assistants to work with a specific child or children with special educational needs (SEN). This will involve building relationships with them, adjusting activities and helping them to focus in class and work with other children. Whilst an understanding of SEN is helpful, many of our teaching assistants gain experience on the job and with training and guidance from teachers and school leaders in their placements. Teaching Assistants are required for the full school day - 8.30am to 3.45pm (approx.) You will need an Enhanced DBS certificate to work with children (don't worry if you haven't got one, we can help you get one) and 2 references covering the past two years. Most importantly you need a caring, dedicated and professional approach to working with young children.
