Job Details
This opportunity is for a capable property lawyer ready to step into a leadership role at one of New Zealand's most respected national firms. Based in Auckland, you'll be working directly alongside a highly regarded Partner - known for her technical excellence, calm authority, and commitment to mentoring - and you'll play a pivotal role as 2IC in a thriving, collaborative team.
The practice spans the full spectrum of property law, with a particular emphasis on major commercial acquisitions and disposals, development projects, leasing portfolios, and complex title structures. While the team also engages in infrastructure and construction matters, the focus for this role is firmly on property, and the ideal candidate will bring a deep grounding in commercial property work.
You'll be someone who relishes both legal work and leadership - keen to provide support and guidance to junior lawyers while maintaining a strong hands-on role in complex, high-value transactions. The structure of the team means there is ample room for you to make your mark, contributing to strategic decision-making and client relationship management at a senior level.
Our client is seeking someone with 5-9 years' post-qualification experience, though there's some flexibility for the right person. Previous experience in a top-tier, mid-tier, or highly respected boutique property team will be viewed favourably. The environment is supportive and forward-thinking, with genuine flexibility, a well-aligned team culture, and excellent long-term progression prospects.
An attractive relocation package, including visa sponsorship, is available for overseas candidates looking to return home - or make a lifestyle move to Auckland, where city living, coastline, and culture all converge.
