Based at our Cardiff Bay campus, you will support the delivery of high quality education both in and out of the classroom, including educational visits and community based learning. You will play a key role in helping pupils engage with learning, develop socially and emotionally, and achieve positive outcomes, while contributing to the school's commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who has:
1. A positive, patient and enthusiastic approach.
2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
3. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external professionals.
4. A friendly, approachable and collaborative attitude.
5. A commitment to maintaining high standards and upholding the values of Oakmont School.
6. A genuine passion for supporting the safety, wellbeing and education of young people.
Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check before commencing employment.
Desirable
It would be advantageous if you have:
7. Experience supporting children and young people with behavioural, emotional and social needs.
8. An understanding of trauma informed approaches and positive behaviour support strategies.
9. A Youth Work, Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification, or a willingness to work towards one as a condition of employment.
