Are you a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer looking for a challenging new role?
We are seeking a proactive individual to play a pivotal role in coordinating projects from conception to completion. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing 4-5 projects simultaneously, balancing long-term OE (Original Equipment) projects (spanning 1-3 years) with quicker retrofit projects (a lengthy number of months). You will be the central point of contact, liaising effectively with both our valued customers and internal engineering and production teams, to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget.
Project Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
Project Ownership: Take full ownership of projects, ensuring their successful execution from the first off, and subsequent handover to production, for OE projects. For one-off or two-off retrofit projects, you will manage the entire process through manufacturing and delivery.
Coordination & Communication: Act as the primary liaison between customer technical teams and our internal business units, relaying information and facilitating seamless collaboration.
Problem Solving & Execution: Drive projects forward, which will involve an element of pricing, planning, and proactive chasing of both internal teams and customers to ensure deadlines are met. You'll be expected to get onto the shop floor to ensure things are happening.
Relationship Building: Success in this role hinges on your ability to build strong personal relationships and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, rather than solely relying on authority.
Design Element: All projects will have a design element, and you will be managing design teams through a matrix structure.
Technical Skills: While not a CAD design role, CAD experience is a definite bonus.
Project Engineer - Skills & Abilities
A mechanical engineering qualification, or similar, and good CAD skills (GD&T experience needed)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence others.
Experience with project management principles (planning, budget control, resource management) within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritise effectively
