We are currently looking for a Trainee Chef | Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at The George Inn, near Dursley in Gloucestershire [GL2 7AL].
As a Chef de Partie, you will perform basic food preparation and cooking tasks in different sections of the kitchen. Your role is to support the Head Chef to keep the kitchen running smoothly. This position offers a valuable opportunity to learn every aspect of the trade, gain first-hand experience, and understand how different sections of a restaurant work together.
We can offer this role under the apprenticeship scheme if you wish to continue your education. Alternatively, if you are already in catering college or school and wish to work around your studies, we are happy to accommodate that too!
Responsibilities include:
1. Helping to keep the kitchen clean and tidy, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
2. Food preparation
3. Planning, cooking, and serving menu items under the guidance of the Head Chef
4. Monitoring and maintaining stock levels, assisting with ordering and deliveries
5. Assisting with the creation and development of new menu items
