Purpose of the role
The Quarry Operative will be responsible for conducting Safety, Health, Environmental (SHE), and Quality inspections, meticulously recording observations, completing checklists before, during, and after operations, and reporting defects. The role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining static and mobile plant equipment for load and haul, processing, and materials handling with safety and efficiency as priorities. Maintaining high standards of site housekeeping and adhering to all company policies, especially regarding health and safety, quality, and environmental procedures, are essential. Collaboration with team members is crucial for efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate mobile plant safely and correctly.
* Follow company procedures at all times.
* Operate static plant safely and efficiently.
* Maintain plant in good condition, following manufacturer and Heidelberg Materials recommendations.
* Complete near miss reports as required.
* Maintain good timekeeping.
* Keep work stations clean and tidy.
* Manage visitor sign-in procedures and conduct contractor inductions where applicable.
