Project: A £4bn defence construction programme based across multiple sites in the UK. 5 Year programme to deliver new build assets for the military establishments. The programme involves successful candidates to work in the secure construction environment. Experienced in delivering major construction programme using NEC in a collaborative environment is essential for this programme. Typical duties will include: Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project. Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan. Provide Employers Agent support where needed. Measurement and checking Contractor's measures. Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed. Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages. Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract. Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients. Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes. Your knowledge, experience and skills need to include: Construction experienced Senior Cost Consultant with NEC4 Accreditation. Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role with 5 years' experience of RIBA 4-6 client side Cost Management Able to obtain UK Security Clearance Level Knowledge of working on large construction/infrastructure project NEC form of contract experience essential Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience. Understanding of hot topic issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, Carbon Reduction impacting Public Sector Capex V Opex Cost Analysis/ advice Qualifications A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent. Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS.
