Substance Misuse Case Manager - Early Intervention (22.5 hours)
The Alcohol Early Interventions Team aims to reduce stigma associated with Alcohol Services and make the offer more accessible to the wider dispersed population of Doncaster residents, this may include those who have noticed an increase in their alcohol intake but are not dependant and would not usually access services or those people who are currently working or have a reasonable amount of social capital. The team offers a structured time limited programme which raises awareness of how alcohol is or can impact on your life, the sessions aim to teach the skills and techniques required to either reduce or stop alcohol use, allowing the person to make an informed decision on how alcohol affects their life in the future.
Main duties of the job
* Undertake comprehensive assessments in order to assess the eligibilityand suitability, strengths and needs of a service user in relation to theservice.
* To devise, monitor, review and update recovery care plans within theservice to ensure that service users needs are met in a timely and appropriatemanner.
* Deliver care packages including, where appropriate, psychosocial andpsychological interventions specifically aimed at engagement.
* Case-manage in line with a harm reduction & recovery focused model,utilising one to one and group-work interventions as appropriate.

Job responsibilities
To demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations,assessing and managing both new and existing service users. To manage acaseload of service users whose main substance is alcohol.
Qualifications
* If you hold a relevant degree e.g., psychology, sociology, social work OR a Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent and L3 Tackling Substance Misuse or equivalent we would like to hear from you.
Experience
* Knowledge of substances and their effects.
* Knowledge of health and safety including the ability to assess high risk situations.
* Understanding of the recovery movement.
* Understand the complexities of multi-disciplinary working.
* Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults and Children principles and application in practice.
* Understand the principles of equality and diversity.
* Knowledge and understanding of electronic operating systems e.g. systmOne.
* Demonstrate knowledge of the importance of social capital and the impact it can have on mental health.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£26,682 to £32,559 a yearpro rata, dependent on experience.
