Band 6 Podiatrist
Band 5 - Development Post will be considered
Highland Podiatry Centre
24 Abban Street, Inverness
37 hours per week
Work base Portree Hospital
This is an exciting post also open to recent graduates who may wish to increase their clinical skills. This post may incorporate a significant period of mentorship covering clinical techniques in advance of those usually experienced at college as required. These will include extensive nail surgery experience, Post Tibial blocks, deep enucleations, needling / blunt dissections of verrucae, MSK podiatry and wound care management of the high risk limb.
No previous experience is necessary although an understanding of the philosophy of care aims is desirable. Band 5 Level candidates will be considered, although it is anticipated that any Band 5 would undertake a development period with progression to Band 6 on successful completion. This development period under Annex 21 is anticipated to last no longer than 12 months. This does not exclude experienced clinicians entering the post at Band 6 level.
You will have a BSc qualification in Podiatric Medicine and be qualified in LA and nail surgery, along with registration with the HCPC. The workbase is at Portree Hospital on the Isle of Skye, about 2 hours 30 minutes drive from Inverness. A sound professional and clinical knowledge, understanding of clinical governance, good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to prioritise and organise your workload, and a full, current driving licence are essential.
