Senior MEP Project Manager - International Data Centre Delivery
Location: Madrid, Spain Sector: Mission-Critical Infrastructure / Data Centres
The Opportunity: A Global Partnership
Step into a lead role on one of Europe's most advanced technical builds. This position offers a unique professional vantage point: you will be supported by a leading specialist engineering firm while being fully integrated into the project team of a world-renowned global general contractor.
We are looking for a high-calibre MEP Project Manager to spearhead the preconstruction, engineering, and installation of complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for a major new data centre in the Madrid region.
Your Strategic Mandate
As the MEP lead, you are the conductor of a complex technical orchestra. Your responsibilities move beyond simple oversight into high-level strategic management:
Lead the Technical Vision: Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of MEP systems, from initial engineering and procurement through to high-stakes commissioning and final handover.
Architect Relationships: Build and maintain influential partnerships with design consultants, inspectors, and client representatives, ensuring every stakeholder is aligned with the project's mission-critical goals.
Mentor and Mobilise: Supervise and develop a dedicated MEP staff, fostering a culture of accountability, coaching engineers and superintendents to reach peak performance.
Commercial Oversight: Take full ownership of MEP budgets. You will evaluate and negotiate change orders, manage subcontractor financial health, and ensure the project remains commercially viable without compromising on quality.
Virtual & Physical Coordination: Partner with VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) teams to ensure digital twins translate perfectly to site logistics, resolving complex spatial conflicts before they impact the schedule.
Quality & Compliance: Implement rigorous QC plans and secure all necessary municipal certifications, ensuring the facility meets the most stringent international standards for safety and performance.
The Candidate Profile
You are a seasoned professional who thrives in high-pressure environments and possesses the "soft skills" to lead a diverse, multi-national workforce.
Technical Pedigree: Extensive experience in either Mechanical or Electrical disciplines, specifically within large-scale industrial or data centre environments.
Leadership Excellence: A proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of engineers.
Operational Agility: The ability to prioritise complex workloads under tight deadlines while maintaining an uncompromising eye for detail.
Linguistic Capability: Professional fluency in English is essential. The ability to communicate in Spanish is a significant advantage for navigating the local landscape.
Ownership Mentality: We are looking for someone who takes total accountability for their workstream and is dedicated to continuous professional growth.
Why Take This Role?
Global Exposure: Work on a flagship project that is a key part of Europe's digital infrastructure expansion.
Career Pathway: While currently based in Madrid, this role opens doors to future large-scale opportunities across mainland Europe.
Comprehensive Support: We provide relocation assistance for the right candidate and offer a working environment where innovation is expected and rewarded.
Flexible Framework: Options for remote-working elements or site-based structures will be tailored to the right candidate during the interview process.
