Job Description:

The Quality Assurance Centre of Excellence (QA CoE) champions product quality across Castrol by providing strategic guidance, identifying and addressing emerging QA risks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Acting as a trusted advisor at all levels of the organization, the QA CoE helps maintain and elevate quality standards across the business.

Our team partners with technology and business functions to deliver best-in-class QA processes, knowledge, and assessments that help mitigate the risks of product quality issues. We ensure compliance with relevant standards, including Operating Management System (OMS) 6.4, and promote consistent, high-quality practices globally.

Role Overview

As a Senior Technologist in the QA CoE, you will play a key role in strengthening Castrol’s product quality framework. Working closely with colleagues in lubricants technology deployment, product development, and across the Castrol business, you’ll support and enhance quality processes, drive knowledge management initiatives, and lead continuous improvement activities.

You will contribute to the definition and maintenance of global QA requirements that underpin the development, manufacturing, and distribution of Castrol lubricants across various markets and categories.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain and enhance global quality processes, including ownership of the lubricant's quality manuals and OMS 6.4 digital processes. Ensure they are regularly reviewed, updated, and aligned with stakeholder feedback.
* Provide day-to-day QA support to the Castrol business, particularly to the Supply Chain team, helping them interpret and apply quality processes effectively.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of QA systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF 16949) and support activities like lab reproducibility/proficiency testing programs.
* Lead or contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives aimed at reducing product quality risks. Use data-driven insights, business priorities, and value-led approaches to identify and prioritize opportunities.
* Provide QA expertise to support key business areas including purchased finished goods, adjacent products, and raw material changes or deletions.
* Conduct QA assessments and perform root cause analysis (RCA) for quality incidents, following onboarding and training.
* Consistently adhere to bp’s Code of Conduct, HSSE standards, and principles of psychological well-being, ethics, and compliance.

Essential Skills & Experience

* A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical or automotive engineering).
* Industry or bp-specific experience in product development or customer-facing technology roles (e.g., lubricants or fuels quality, deployment).
* Strong understanding and application of quality assurance/control principles.
* Familiarity with quality tools and standards such as FMEA, Six Sigma, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and IATF 16949.
* Proven ability to collaborate across geographies and diverse cultural teams.
* Strong problem-solving and cross-functional networking skills, particularly with performance units and global supply chain partners.
* Experience with various technology management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, TCVP, Agile, Kanban).
* Skilled at presenting technical concepts clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivated, open to learning, and adaptable to evolving practices.
