Your Day-to-Day
As a Mental Capacity Assessor, you’ll:
* Conduct decision-specific assessments in homes, care settings, and remotely via our telehealth platform.
* Prepare clear, court-compliant reports across a wide range of capacity decisions—from COP3 and LPAs to retrospective assessments.
* Manage your own caseload with support from a highly experienced central team.
* Contribute to resource development, service design, and training initiatives.
* Advocate for client rights and support them through complex, often life-changing decisions.
What You’ll Need
* Professional registration with HCPC (e.g. Practitioner Psychologist, Occupational Therapist), or
* Membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS), or
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Solid experience in conducting or contributing to mental capacity assessments.
* Strong report-writing and communication skills.
* The ability to work independently, with empathy and professionalism.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car (travel expenses are fully covered).
* A genuine passion for safeguarding autonomy and dignity.
