As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will lead and support the Stock Control team while also being hands‑on in the operation. You’ll ensure fruit is safely unloaded from incoming lorries, correctly allocated to the appropriate chillers, and accurately picked and transferred for outbound deliveries. You will provide day‑to‑day guidance and support to Team Leaders and Stock Operatives, working closely with the Warehouse Manager to make sure stock is stored, moved, and delivered correctly and efficiently. Building strong working relationships across the wider business will be key to ensuring a smooth, timely, and consistent flow of stock throughout the operation. Main Duties Responsible for accurately transferring intake information into the relevant fruit stock tables within the new SI system. Carry out controlled checks to ensure that system data matches the physical stock and information recorded at the point of intake. Confirm consignments on the system as required to ensure accurate stock records. Read and action all relevant communications, including emails relating to fruit on hold or under concession. Liaise with Procurement Admin and Stock teams to ensure all scheduled vehicles have arrived for the day. Lead by example to motivate your team, ensuring Stock Team targets are achieved while consistently demonstrating PrepWorld behaviours and values. Proactively identify, communicate, and escalate any potential issues that could impact stock flow to the Stock Control Supervisor. Ensure all team members operate in full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and relevant health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, promoting the safe use of facilities and equipment and maintaining a safe working environment for colleagues and visitors. Provide day‑to‑day support and guidance to Warehouse Operatives, actively promoting PrepWorld values and behaviours within the team. Carry out hands‑on duties including loading and unloading lorries, transferring fruit pallets to the correct chillers, and checking stock against intake control sheets, escalating any discrepancies or issues to the Supervisor as required. Complete daily stock counts across chillers and warehouse facilities using electronic scanners, ensuring the Stock Excel system is accurately updated each day. Count incoming boxes and verify delivery details against packing lists to ensure accuracy on arrival. Produce and apply pallet labels for each pallet of fruit and accurately record pallet weights using the electronic scales system. Use the daily Production Plan to calculate the required quantities of raw materials needed to meet customer orders. Allocate the appropriate fruit to the Stock Team, clearly detailing product type, quality, and location, ensuring Production receives the correct stock on time and in the required quantities. Proactively liaise with Production teams if any issues or shortages are identified. Complete and sign all delivery notes accurately, updating traceability labels where required. Ensure all relevant information, including seal numbers and confirmation of whether seals are intact or not, is correctly recorded on drivers’ paperwork before vehicles are released. Act as a deputy for the Senior Supervisor during their absence, supporting the smooth running of stock and warehouse operations. Person Specification and Skill Requirements Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in a stock control, warehouse, or logistics environment, ideally in a supervisory or team-leading capacity. Strong understanding of stock management processes, including inventory accuracy, stock movements, and replenishment. Experience working to daily plans and operational targets in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with team members, Team Leaders, and senior stakeholders. Demonstrable ability to identify issues, escalate appropriately, and support timely resolution. Working knowledge of health & safety regulations within a warehouse or operational setting. Competent IT skills, including use of WMS systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools. Essential Skills Previous experience supporting a Senior Supervisor or Manager within a warehouse or operational environment. Hold a valid Forklift licence and current PPT licence Experience in continuous improvement and process optimisation within a fast‑paced operation. Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Able to work the advertised shift pattern and flexible to remain on site longer when operationally required. Hours of Work: Wednesday to Saturday, 05:00am – 5:00pm. Flexibility is required to remain on site longer when operationally necessary.
