The Governors of this high achieving, oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy seek to appoint a Science Technician to support the Senior Science Technician with the use of practical resources to meet the needs of the Science Department and maintaining a safe working environment.
The successful applicant will also assist in the maintenance of all resources, chemicals and equipment requirements for the laboratories, preparation room and the science work room.
What are we looking for?
* Someone with the ability to work as part of a team and to engage with a diverse range of people including teachers, support staff and students
* Someone who is willing to learn the relevant scientific knowledge needed to support them in their role (training will be given)
* A willingness to complete health and safety training and then maintain an up-to-date knowledge of any changing advice from CLEAPPs. Using their training to carry out appropriate Health and Safety checks within the Science department and working with the Head of Department to implement relevant changes
* Someone who has effective and efficient organisational skills, be able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative
* Someone with good literacy and numeracy is essential
