GP Training Programme Director for Expansion
The role of GP Training Programme Director for Expansion is to work with and support the Heads of School and the Primary Care Dean in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the objectives of NHS England Workforce Training and Education (WT&E).
The GP Training Programme Director for Expansion will focus on activities such as:
1. Learning set facilitation
2. Supporting the GP TPDs in the Half Day Release scheme by providing curriculum and placement support
3. Potentially supporting departmental fellows
4. Collaborating with GP Tutors and locality training hub colleagues to promote capacity and new organisational placements to manage expansion, capacity, and updated ways of working within GP Training
This role aims to improve learner supervision, assessment, and experience, engage faculty, and ensure effective educational outcomes. It also emphasizes workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links, working across health and social care sectors to reflect changing service models and deliver an integrated workforce.
Ideal candidates should be self-motivated, adaptable to changing priorities, and possess strong leadership skills. A good knowledge of the GP curriculum and mandatory requirements is essential, along with extensive experience in healthcare education management. Candidates must be current GMC-registered GPs and able to positively advocate for NHSE. Demonstrating NHS values and inspiring leadership is crucial.
