About us

Buckinghamshire Council is firmly focused on the future and has made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.

Our team plays a vital role in helping the Council achieve its strategic objectives by providing strategic support and driving high-quality change and transformation.

About the role

As a Service Improvement Officer, you will use your leadership and change management skills to deliver complex projects and change initiatives across the Council. You will be responsible for identifying and delivering improvements and efficiencies, scoping requirements, and supporting the design of appropriate solutions.

You’ll be part of a team of Service Improvement Officers that support the delivery of key change initiatives across the vast array of Council services. The role can be varied and fast-paced and will involve working with senior leaders to enable high quality transformation across the organisation.

“No two projects are the same! Even if there are similar aspects of two different projects, they're never the same. I always gain new experiences and new insights on every new project I run or am a part of.”

Any-Desk: As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About you

We're looking for Service Improvement Officers who can make things happen.

You'll be leading and managing complex projects and change initiatives across the Council, using your skills and experience in project management and business analysis. You'll have expert knowledge of improvement methodologies, systems, policies and regulations, and you'll know how to apply them in a local government setting.

You'll be a great communicator and collaborator, able to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders, act as a subject matter expert, and mentor and support other project team members. In addition, you'll be adaptable, able to see the big picture and to cope with conflicting and changing demands, all while ensuring project outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to the required standards.
