Reading (1 day on-site/week) Initial 3-Month Contract Immediate Start Available We’re seeking an experienced Lead Developer to support a large-scale transformation programme for a major UK-based energy provider, delivered through one of the leading global IT services consultancies. This is a critical role in a complex project currently progressing through System Integration and Functional Testing phases, with an eye on the upcoming User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Your primary focus will be to resolve technical defects identified during these stages and provide ongoing support through the wider testing lifecycle. Tech Stack & Experience Required: Angular (latest versions preferred) NestJS & Node.js – hands-on backend development expertise SQL – strong database skills Azure – proven experience with microservices in a cloud-native environment What You'll Be Doing: Troubleshooting and resolving defects in a fast-paced, reactive environment Collaborating with QA, DevOps, and solution architects to maintain code integrity and performance Supporting the project through into UAT, ensuring technical stability and feature completeness Acting as a senior technical presence, guiding junior developers if necessary Ideal Candidate: Brings strong full-stack experience with a backend focus Has previously worked on enterprise-level applications hosted in Azure Is comfortable with short-term, high-impact delivery cycles Demonstrates the ability to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding This role offers the chance to be part of a high-profile digital transformation project in the energy sector, with the opportunity to extend beyond the initial term for the right candidate.
