To teach and assess across a range of courses within the teaching department and act as a course tutor to groups of students. The role involves duties aligned with College Quality Improvement, Key Performance Indicators, and College strategic priorities, including adherence to the College Teaching, Learning and Assessment standards. The post may also involve taking on an additional area of responsibility at Programme Lead level if appropriate.
The responsibilities will be reviewed annually during the performance development review (PDR) process.

Key Duties
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment on various courses, meeting college standards and awarding body expectations.
* Conduct initial assessments and diagnostics to inform individual learning plans.
* Mark and assess student work promptly and in line with policy.
* Contribute to developing employability skills through partnerships with employers.
* Embed English, Maths, and digital skills into the curriculum.
* Develop schemes of work, learning plans, and materials aligned with course aims and assessments.
* Collaborate with team members in course delivery and quality assurance activities.
* Participate in course moderation/verification processes.
Student Support
* Engage in student interviews, enrolment, open days, and other promotional events.
* Meet students regularly to discuss progress and support their career progression.
* Support students at risk of failing and promote positive conduct.
* Liaise with parents and external agencies as needed.
Course Management and Administration
* Maintain accurate records of courses, attendance, assessments, and destinations.
* Provide information for quality improvement and self-assessment.

Person Specification
Essential Requirements
* Level 2 English and Maths qualifications or willing to work towards them.
* Level 3 qualification or equivalent in relevant subject.
* Teaching qualification to Level 5 or working towards it.
* Experience in vocational teaching roles.
* Ability to deliver effective teaching and maintain accurate records.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Interest in current educational initiatives and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
* Degree or equivalent in relevant subject.
* Experience in course tutorship and FE/HE programs.
* Knowledge of ILT techniques and assessment planning.
* Ability to apply current initiatives in practice and achieve assessor awards.
