The Role of Aftermarket Sales Engineer
Are you a technical sales engineer or a customer support engineer seeking a new challenge? We are looking for someone who will help customers realize upgrades and follow Solution-selling methodologies. You will work alongside marketing, engineering, and applications teams to improve customer experience and uphold the company's reputation for excellence in service, spares, and support.
Responsibilities of a Technical Sales Engineer
1. Meet sales targets by leveraging sales channels and customer touchpoints to identify end-user needs and promote parts sales.
2. Call through an existing customer database to upsell services and products such as spare parts, maintenance packages, software updates, and machine upgrades.
3. Travel occasionally to support and build relationships with customers, technicians, and at trade shows.
4. Create tools to identify the type, use, and estimated life of tools and components.
5. Develop credibility and strong relationships with customers to maximize solution opportunities.
6. Drive aftermarket revenues through marketing campaigns, product trials, and customer testimonials.
7. Proactively contact customers via cold calls, warm calls, and emails to uncover needs and promote offerings, traveling as needed.
8. Use CRM and existing interactions to develop sales leads.
Key Requirements
1. Technical knowledge of CNC routers, 3D printers, lasers, waterjets, or similar machinery.
2. Experience in sales or after-sales support roles.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
4. Customer-facing experience is advantageous.
5. Ability to travel and stay away from home for training (2-4 weeks).
6. Full UK driving license and valid passport.
Salary and Benefits
* Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 per year
* 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday (1-hour lunch)
