The Hospital infant Feeding team, covers a widearea for support within the hospital setting, this position will support theInfant feeding Coordinator duties include staff training, faciliating education,UNICEF BFI, support with absence cover for the midwife led tongue tie clinic,providing infant feeding support to mothers/parents and staff within Barnsleyhospital and borough.
Main duties of the job
Tobe a confident and competent autonomous practitioner who practices within thesphere of the Nursing and Midwifery council and NMC guidelines
Tosupport the Infant feeding Coordinator to improve Breastfeeding rates and meetnational targets.
Toprovide a high standard of evidence-based support, with regards to infantfeeding information and advice to mothers/parents during the antenatal,postnatal period and beyond when in the hospital setting.
Tosupport the Infant feeding Coordinator in training health professionals so thatthey are sufficiently trained to support with infant feeding and relationshipbuilding.
Tosupport the Infant Feeding Coordinator in the maintenance of the UNICEF UK,Baby Friendly Initiative within the hospital and community settings, aiming forachieving sustainability whilst working in close partnership with the 0-19PHNS.
Withoversight and support from the Infant Feeding Coordinator, undertake internaland BFI audits, using appropriate tools to evaluate and develop infant feedingpractices within the hospital and community setting.
Toprovide support and work alongside the Infant Feeding Coordinator and theInfant feeding Support Workers within the Infant Feeding Team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife- Valid NMC registration.
* NIPE
* UNICEF Breastfeeding and Relationship course or equivalent
* Completion of UNICEF train the trainer course or equivalent
* Frenulotomy Practitioner or willingness to undertake training to become a Frenulotomy Practitioner
Knowledge and Awareness
* Knowledges of UNICEF BFI
* Awareness of CNST, ATTAIN, the role of the CQC
* Knowledge of audit and research
* Evidence of specialist knowledge in relation to infant feeding practices
Experience
* Ability to fulfill the Job Description requirements competently.
* Evidence of on-going professional development
