Skills and Experience
* 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in Software Testing or operating as a QA Analyst with a strong foundation in both manual testing and supporting automation frameworks.
* Experience with manual testing including functional, regression and integration testing.
* Familiarity with automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress) and Test management tools like TestRail, Zephyr or X‑ray will be beneficial.
* Experience working in agile teams collaborating with developers, product managers and DevOps to meet sprint goals and deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
* Familiarity with Git for version control and collaboration with team members on code repositories.
* Good understanding of SQL queries to validate data and interact with databases.
* Basic familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, JavaScript etc.) to contribute to automation efforts with a willingness to grow your skills, knowledge and qualifications in this area.
* Exposure to testing in cloud environments (e.g. AWS and Azure) and understanding of microservices architecture is advantageous.
* ISTQB Foundation level certification or similar certification in Software Testing or Quality Assurance.
* An understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), performance testing (via Gatling, Load Runner, Locust) and CI/CD practices (via CircleCI, Jenkins or similar) would be very useful.
The Opportunity
My client based in the sustainability sector is currently on the lookout for a QA Analyst where you will be responsible for performing hands‑on manual testing including functional regression and exploratory testing.
You will collaborate closely with other QAs, product managers, developers and DevOps teams in an agile environment to ensure product quality and stability.
You’ll contribute to creating clear test documentation, managing defect lifecycles, supporting automation frameworks and executing SQL queries to validate data and interact with databases.
Please note this role will not be fully remote and there is no flexibility on the 2 days per week in the Exeter office.
