Description Role: Residential Support Worker (Waking Nights) Salary: £ 24309.07 per annum (pro rata) Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire. A bit about the role Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. We are specifically looking for a Residential Support Worker who has had experience leading a team or may have been called a senior in a similar role. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential. A bit about the role Our Residential Support Worker works in a dedicated team through shifts with expertise and empathy. Their proactive approach to risk manage and safeguard our young people's wellbeing allowing us to deliver the highest quality of care. With a commitment to continuous improvement, they'll ensure the wellbeing of our children and young people is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. Once you have gained the relevant experience and qualifications, you'll be ready to progress to the next step in your career with us. Our Residential Support Workers create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop, ensuring their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy that is consistent with regulatory requirements and the agreed policies and procedures. How you'll help to create brighter futures In the role as Residential Support Worker, you will be promoting Action for Children's values as well as supporting the Registered Manager, Service Coordinator and Teams Leaders to achieve positive outcomes for the young person. What you will be doing: Providing lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk. Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports. Attending professional meetings including reviews, court work etc. Being resilient in supporting the young people through challenging situations. Let's talk about you, ideally you will have: Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families. Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting. Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role. Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
