Randstad Education is supporting a developing and excellent primary school in Southend-on-Sea is searching for a learning support assistant who wants to work in a stimulating and rewarding environment. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work with children individually or in small groups, aiding them with their academic, behavioural, and social development, as well as assisting children who struggle to study.
As a learning support assistant, you must be sensitive and sympathetic, with a strong desire to create a positive learning environment. This position is primarily for years 2 and 3, so previous experience would be beneficial.
REQUIREMENTS FROM THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
1. Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
2. A sound understanding of how children develop socially and mentally.
3. Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is preferred.
4. An Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get a new one.
5. Eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available with this role).
6. Two most recent professional recommendations. (This is essential)

24. Listening to children read, reading to them, and telling them stories.
25. Looking after vulnerable children who require a dedicated person to manage their physical needs, including their hygiene.
26. Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks.
