*Introduction*Transition Metals Limited is a long-established manufacturing business based in Sheffield, operating internationally within the titanium recycling and ferroalloy sector.Recent industry developments have positioned the company as the only remaining ferrotitanium producer in the UK and Western Europe, creating both a unique market position and a clear opportunity to strengthen and modernise internal operations.We are seeking a Systems & Data Coordinator to support and develop how data, systems, and processes are managed across the business. Given the nature of the company and the role, responsibilities will evolve over time and should be viewed as a guide rather than a fixed specification.*Role Overview*This is a broad, hands-on role combining administrative, operational, and systems responsibilities within a manufacturing environment. The position supports activity across:* production* inventory and stock control* commercial and contract processes* reporting and internal systemsA key part of the role will involve improving how data is captured, managed, and used across the business. This includes reviewing existing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and helping to move away from manual or legacy methods towards more structured, accurate, reliable, and consistent ways of working. The role operates within a hands-on, cross-functional manufacturing environment, and is not limited to a rigid task structure. The successful candidate will be expected to take a proactive approach, contribute across multiple areas, and take ownership of responsibilities from an early stage.*Reporting Line & Team Context*The role reports directly to the Managing Director and supports multiple functions across the business. The wider leadership structure is relatively new in its current form, and the Systems and Information Supervisor is expected to leave the business in the coming months. This creates a clear opportunity for the successful candidate to take ownership of key systems and data-related responsibilities. The role will play an important part in improving consistency, visibility, and accountability across operational and commercial activities.*Key Responsibilities*Systems, Data & Reporting* Enter and maintain accurate data within SAP (training provided if required)* Record production, stock, and financial information in a timely and consistent manner* Support the preparation of weekly, monthly, and year-end reports* Assist with stock valuations, reconciliations, and performance reporting* Maintain structured digital records and documentationProduction & Inventory Support* Record and track production activity (e.g. degreasing, melting, crushing, packing)* Maintain stock movements, transfers, and adjustments* Support stock control processes, including periodic stock takes* Liaise with production teams to ensure accuracy of operational dataCommercial & Contract Support* Assist with sales and purchase contract administration* Enter contracts, invoices, and related data into SAP* Support shipping, logistics, and transport coordination* Assist with export and import processes, including documentation and liaison with agents* Support customer and supplier communication where requiredSystems & Process Improvement* Review and improve existing data capture methods and workflows* Help standardise processes across production, inventory, and commercial activities* Support the transition away from manual or inconsistent methods towards more structured and reliable systems* Develop and implement practical tools (e.g. templates, reporting formats, tracking methods)* Contribute to improving data integrity, visibility, and accountability across the businessGeneral Operations* Support shared inbox management and communication* Respond to internal and external queries in a timely and professional manner* Provide general administrative and operational support as required*Ways of Working*The role operates within a small, lean and hands-on manufacturing environment and does not follow a highly prescriptive or task-based format. You will be expected to:* Take ownership of responsibilities from an early stage* Respond to changing priorities and operational demands* Contribute proactively to both day-to-day activities and longer-term improvements* Actively identify opportunities to improve systems, data capture methods, and operational processesSupport and direction will be provided; however, the role is intended to develop into one with a high degree of autonomy.*Candidate Profile*We are seeking an individual who is:* Organised, accurate, and detail-oriented* Comfortable working with data, systems, and spreadsheets* Strong numerical and analytical skills, confident working with figures* Proactive and willing to take ownership* Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced environment* Interested in improving processes, not just maintaining them* Comfortable reviewing and improving existing ways of working*Skills & Experience** Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills (essential)* Experience with ERP systems (SAP desirable but not essential)* Good understanding of data handling and systems-based workflows* Strong time management and ability to prioritise workload* Clear and professional communication skills*Company Context & Objectives*The scope of this role should be viewed in the context of the company’s current position and longer-term objectives. Transition Metals operates in international markets, with the majority of activity conducted outside the UK. This includes improving how operational and commercial data is captured, structured, and reported, and reducing reliance on manual or inconsistent methods.This role will contribute directly to these objectives.*Salary & Benefits*Salary: £31,500 – £37,500 per annum, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Annual salary reviews will be considered in line with company terms and conditions.
