As a Senior Support Worker, you are expected to work effectively within the team to create a high standard of Community Therapy Provision. You will work unsupervised on the ward, carry your own caseload as appropriately delegated from a registered therapist, and hand over any concerns to the relevant Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
You are expected to work at a high professional standard following the local Trust Values and will comply with local supervision policies, including:
1. Regular clinical supervision to discuss your caseload and any additional training that may assist with service provision.
2. Managerial supervision.
3. Mandatory training.
4. Maintenance of competencies.
5. An annual PDR and a 6-month halfway PDR review.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Helping patients to transfer and mobilise.
2. Assisting patients with exercise programmes.
3. Issuing equipment for patients to use when they are discharged home.
4. Communicating with patients, their families, and carers when assisting trained staff with discharge planning.
5. Assisting qualified therapists with the rehabilitation of complex patients.
6. Carrying out admin tasks.
