About the role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will assist with the development and implementation of quality activities for engineering and manufacturing disciplines, focusing on error prevention, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, legislation, regulation, international standards adherence, and reduction of variation and waste throughout the product lifecycle. This includes initial development, prototyping, production, and the product's lifecycle. Knowledge of new product introduction processes and Conformity of Production requirements is essential.
You will support FMEA activities, concern resolution/problem solving, provide KPI data, and drive improvement actions. During new program activities, you will assist with prototype builds, production launches, and ramp-up to full production.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
As our Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality processes, documentation, and metrics across the organization, including process maps, procedures, and logs to demonstrate compliance with Part 21 Subpart G, Subpart J, and AS9100.
* Maintaining key quality documents such as customer Quality Plans and FAI Reports.
* Conducting internal audits to verify compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements.
* Supporting the Site Quality Manager in developing and maintaining Business Management systems to meet legislative, regulatory, and customer needs.
* Participating in continuous improvement activities and providing quality performance data.
* Supporting New Product Introduction processes through quality planning and execution.
* Developing internal PFMEAs, process flowcharts, and AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
* Reviewing and investigating concessions, permits, rejects, and returns.
* Managing non-conformances and leading investigations using problem-solving techniques.
* Issuing airworthiness certificates (Form 1s) for dispatched goods.
* Performing supplier quality assurance activities.
* Capturing and analyzing quality data, taking corrective actions, and reporting KPIs.
* Utilizing key quality tools (FMEA, RCA, SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R) to improve manufacturing performance.
* Performing other activities to meet departmental objectives.
About you
To support our growth, you will bring expertise in quality, a passion for problem-solving, and a drive for operational excellence, with the following skills and qualifications:
* 5 GSEs including English and Mathematics.
* Diploma or Certificate in Engineering or Quality.
* Knowledge of ISO9001:2015.
* FAI knowledge and understanding.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering information.
* Experience in audit report writing and data presentation.
* Proficiency with key quality tools (FMEA, RCA, SPC, etc.).
* Experience in project/time management and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
* Engineering Degree.
* Certified Internal Auditor (AS9100).
* Experience with AS9102, AS9100, CAA Part 21G & J, and aerospace standards.
* Background in medium to high volume aerospace manufacturing.

* IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Office.

Eligible to work in the UK and willing to commute or be based in Hingham, Norfolk.
