About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Process Design Engineer to join an established engineering team driving innovative energy solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to lead mechanical design activities for complex power generation and energy storage projects.
You’ll take ownership of mechanical systems design from concept through to delivery, producing detailed technical documentation and ensuring high-quality engineering output. You’ll work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects that support energy efficiency and low-carbon outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design of mechanical systems for energy and power generation projects.
* Produce and manage detailed engineering documentation including specifications, PFDs, and P&IDs.
* Oversee CAD activities and ensure design outputs meet project requirements.
* Perform technical assessments such as pipe and pump sizing and safety reviews.
* Liaise with project managers, suppliers, and stakeholders to support delivery.
* Provide on-site technical support, surveys, and troubleshooting.
* Contribute to budgeting, planning, and cost-effective design solutions.
Who We’re Looking For
You should have:
* Proven mechanical engineering experience, particularly in power generation or related sectors.
* Strong competencies in mechanical design, pipework/ventilation systems, and health & safety principles.
* Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD 3D or equivalent).
* A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/D, degree, or equivalent).
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
* A full, valid driving licence.
Working Hours
Standard working hours:
Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
