Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team in Head Office. The Buyer will build strong relationships with external suppliers and internal customers, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate to provide best value for money services for the group. The role involves negotiating commercial terms for the supply of spare parts for a wide range of products in our hire fleet and supporting the depot network with warranty processing and claims.
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers and internal customers.
* Lead commercial negotiations related to the supply of spare parts for a wide range of equipment in the hire fleet (e.g., excavators, dumpers, compressors, ride-on rollers, telehandlers, generators, lighting towers, towable welfare units, power tools including air, electrical and battery operated).
* Negotiate to deliver best value for money services for the group.
* Maintain a database of supplier warranty conditions and assist the depot network with processing and negotiating warranty claims.
Qualifications
* Previous purchasing experience with a proven track record in supplier management and delivering cost/efficiency savings.
* A background in construction/engineering/plant and tool hire sectors is preferred; candidates from an FMCG background will also be considered.
* A CIPS qualification or be studying towards one; alternatively, demonstrate appropriate knowledge gained through experience.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel/Word.
* Commercial awareness and excellent organisational skills.
