Job Overview
I am currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer (Electrically biased) for my manufacturing company based in Bredbury. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
The Maintenance Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.
The current salary is £(phone number removed) per annum. Paid monthly.
The shift pattern is starting at 05.00 to start the site services and cover the plant until 23.00. This involves working 4 rotating shifts to cover this, 05.00-13.00, 06.00-14.00, 14.00-22.00 and 15.00 -23.00. The shifts rotate on a weekly basis. Usually no night shift or weekends for normal working but some overtime would be expected, currently paid at time plus 1/2.
The holiday entitlement is 27 days plus the statutory holidays.
My client offer an employee pension scheme where the company will top up the employee’s contribution. This is currently up to a max of 7% by the company. The employee can put additional funds in if they wish to do so.

Responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer
* Conduct regular maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues as they arise.
* Work with programmable logic controllers to enhance system functionality.
* Interpret schematics to facilitate repairs and installations.
* Provide electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and process maintenance cover on a day-to-day basis.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
* Collaborate with other team members to ensure safety standards are met.
* Provide leadership and supervision to junior maintenance staff when required.
* Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from other departments.
Qualifications - Maintenance Engineer
* Time served electrically and have a formal qualification in electrical engineering, preferably an HNC.
* Proven experience in maintenance engineering, with a strong understanding of mechanical knowledge and electrical experience.
* Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and the ability to read schematics is essential.
* Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
