The Role
:
As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you'll manage a team of engineering geologists and geotechnical/environmental engineers.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead project management and technical teams effectively.
2. Prepare, review, and authorise proficient Ground Investigation Reports and Geotechnical Design Reports.
3. Contribute to business development and maintain high levels of customer service.
4. Provide technical expertise across various sectors, ensuring solutions are robust and cost-effective.
Requirements:
5. Previously worked as a Geotechnical Engineer or in a similar role.
6. Possess chartered or near-chartered status.
7. Prior project management experience.
8. Experience in Preliminary Risk Assessments and Intrusive Ground Investigations.
9. Background in infrastructure, industrial, residential, commercial and leisure development sectors.
10. Degree in Earth Sciences, Geology or Civil Engineering.
11. Understanding of modern ground investigation techniques and laboratory analysis methods.
12. Knowledge of assessing and designing various aspects of geotechnical engineering, including slope stability, foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, etc.
13. Familiarity with construction techniques and project constraints, with a focus on value engineering.
14. MSc in Geotechnics or Engineering Geology or a related subject would be preferred.
15. Skilled in Microsoft Office, with skills in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, RocScience, Oasys software suites, gINT, PLAXIS, and Wallap.
