Role Overview
We’re looking for a Computer Graphic Designer to join our IT team, supporting the design and visual delivery of internal systems, customer-facing platforms, and digital tools.
This role bridges the gap between design and technology, working closely with IT to enhance how systems look, feel, and function. You’ll help ensure our platforms are not only technically robust but also intuitive, modern, and visually consistent.
This is an ideal role for someone looking to move beyond traditional graphic design and gain hands-on experience working on real systems, portals, and live business tools.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the IT team to design and improve internal systems, portals, and dashboards
* Create UI layouts, graphics, and visual elements for web-based platforms
* Support the development of customer-facing tools with clean, user-friendly design
* Maintain and evolve Vanaways’ digital visual identity across systems and interfaces
* Design assets for internal tools, reports, presentations, and automation outputs
* Ensure consistency across all IT-delivered platforms and touchpoints
* Assist with prototyping and visualising new system features before development
* Optimise designs for usability, clarity, and performance
Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in Graphic Design and UI Design
* Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
* Understanding of how designs translate into real systems (web/app environments)
* Strong attention to detail and consistency
* Ability to work closely with technical teams and adapt to system constraints
* Good communication skills for collaborating with IT stakeholders
Desirable (Nice to Have)
* Experience designing for internal tools or business systems
* Basic understanding of HTML/CSS or frontend structure
* Experience with dashboards, data visualisation, or system UI
* Familiarity with working in an IT or infrastructure-focused environment
* Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or related field
What Makes This Role Different
* Direct impact on real business systems, not just marketing assets
* Close collaboration with IT — shaping how tools actually work day-to-day
* Exposure to live systems, development workflows, and product thinking
* Opportunity to grow into UI/UX, product design, or technical roles over time
* Fast-moving environment with tangible results from your work
Compensation
ÂŁ29,000 per year
This role is positioned as a strong entry point into digital product and IT-focused design, offering hands-on experience working on live systems and platforms. For the right candidate, there is clear opportunity to progress into higher-level UI/UX or product-focused roles as skills and impact grow.
