Governance Risk and Compliance Associate (fixed-term contract)

Salary: £24,188.00 per annum

This is a wide-ranging role and will give you a firm grounding in the Society’s Governance, Risk and Compliance practices and processes to enable further progression into the function, if desired.

What will you be doing?
Reporting into the Enterprise Risk Manager, you will provide administrative support throughout the governance, risk and compliance functions, including organisation of Board and Committee meetings, collation of papers, policies and procedures, action management, and other ad hoc tasks as required.
You will also provide administrative support to the Chief Risk Officer, such as diary management and anything else that may arise – no two days will be the same!
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
* Assist in various tasks for the Enterprise Risk team, including collating papers for meetings, performing monthly reporting processes – including running month-end Risk System reports, supporting Risk System administration, and maintaining Internal audit records.
* Coordinating all Board and Committee meetings, including scheduling, room bookings, catering, and accommodation arrangements.
* Facilitating governance reporting by notifying stakeholders in advance, preparing rolling agendas, arranging pre-meetings, and compiling papers in the required format.
* Supporting year-end requirements such as AGM coordination, director year-end packs, declarations, and annual effectiveness reviews for the Board and Committees.
* Maintaining records, including action tracking logs, Board and Committee papers, minutes, and delegated authorities.
What type of person will you need to be?
You will be a great organiser who is able to work efficiently and accurately and is comfortable performing tasks to meet multiple overlapping deadlines. As the role will involve liaising with colleagues at all levels across the organisation, you will be a confident and effective communicator, with great verbal and written skills.
Ideally you will also have good systems skills, as the role will involve working with Microsoft applications (mainly Word and Excel) and with the Society’s Risk and Board reporting systems.
* Qualified to degree-level, relevant A-levels, or equivalent.
