Location: Primary Schools across South Tyneside
Pay: £507 – £550 per week (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday – Friday | Flexible (Full-time, Part-time & Supply available)

About the Teaching Assistant Opportunity
Milk Education is working in partnership with a range of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across South Tyneside to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants.

You’ll be supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to thrive both academically and socially.
Your Role as a Teaching Assistant
As a TA, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day life of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:
4. Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
5. Supporting children with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs
6. Assisting the class teacher in delivering creative and engaging lessons
7. Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
8. Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
9. Preparing classroom resources and supporting general classroom organisation
10. Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers
What We’re Looking For in a Teaching Assistant
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in children’s lives. Ideal candidates will have:
11. A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
12. Previous experience working with children (schools, nurseries, youth work, or care settings)
13. A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
14. Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs
15. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
16. A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach
