HR Advisor (Maternity Cover) at Ovarro

Overview
Ovarro is looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented People Advisor to join our People & Culture team and provide maternity cover on a fixed‑term contract. The role will act as a trusted partner to line managers and employees, taking ownership of employee relations matters, providing coaching and guidance to managers, and driving a proactive approach to talent management, succession planning, and employee engagement.
Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for line managers on employee relations issues, providing timely and pragmatic advice on disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence matters.
* Own the end‑to‑end management of ER cases, ensuring resolution in line with company policy and legal requirements.
* Coaching and upskilling line managers to build confidence and capability in handling people matters effectively.
* Support talent management initiatives, including succession planning, career development, and performance improvement processes.
* Partner with leaders to identify high‑potential employees and support development planning.
* Contribute to the design and delivery of people initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and organisational effectiveness.
* Drive small projects and recommend continuous improvements to people policies, processes, and tools.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an HR Advisor/HR Generalist, with responsibility for employee relations casework.
* Demonstrated success in coaching and supporting line managers to improve capability in managing people matters.
* Experience coordinating performance management cycles, talent reviews, or succession planning processes.
* Track record of delivering HR projects or initiatives that improved employee engagement or streamlined processes.
* Exposure to working in multi‑site or international environments.
