Senior Facilities Manager
Location: Bracknell, England, United Kingdom.
Service line: GWS Segment. Role type: Full-time. Areas of Interest: Engineering/Maintenance.
What You’ll Do
* Lead end‑to‑end soft services operations for a large client site, ensuring service quality, safety, compliance, and client experience.
* Provide formal supervision, performance management, coaching, and development for staff, and coordinate training and competency development.
* Recruit, select, onboard, and retain staff, establishing work schedules and ensuring appropriate resourcing levels.
* Cross‑train teams to improve resilience, flexibility and succession coverage.
* Own operational delivery: attend/lead client and stakeholder meetings; review service lines for best practice and efficiencies.
* Lead and supervise specific teams: Grounds Maintenance, Site Logistics & Stores, Waste Collection, and client catering contract, ensuring safety, efficiency, sustainability and regulatory compliance.
* Supervise third‑party suppliers for janitorial, pest control, security and other soft services, and manage additional suppliers on an ad‑hoc basis.
* Continuously improve processes, inventory management and procurement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
* Identify and implement enhancement opportunities across outdoor services, waste strategies, and sustainability initiatives.
What You’ll Need
* Experience in leading soft services and facilities operations in a large site environment.
* Strong people management skills: performance evaluation, coaching, mentoring, and staff development.
* Proficiency in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining staff, establishing schedules and cross‑training.
* Demonstrated ability to supervise various teams (grounds, logistics, waste, catering) and manage contractor relationships.
* Knowledge of safety, environmental regulations, sustainability, and compliance requirements.
* Skills in inventory control, procurement, and cost‑control optimisation.
* Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills to lead client and stakeholder meetings.
* Capacity for continuous improvement, identifying efficiencies and implementing best practices.
