Position: Head of HR
Location: Based in the Newbury office and supporting the Clapham, Highbury & Islington territories (with regular travel as needed)
Salary: Up to £60k per annum, DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday (hybrid working, with approximately 1 day per week in Central London)

The Opportunity
Thompson & Terry Recruitment are proudly working with our long‑standing people‑focused client who are seeking a forward‑thinking and relationship‑driven Head of HR to join their growing team.
As Head of HR, you will take ownership of managing the full HR lifecycle across a diverse range of clients, while also stepping up to manage the day‑to‑day operations within the HR function. You will work closely with business leaders and the Managing Director to shape HR strategy, guide key decisions, and ensure clients receive commercially focused advice that builds long‑term, value‑adding relationships.
We are looking for a genuine business leader, who can balance an amazing level of service with a strong commercial focus and is confident engaging in commercial conversations with clients. This is not a role for someone purely focused on HR processes, but for a dynamic individual who can combine HR best practice with strategic business leadership and commercial acumen to help grow the organisation.
You will enjoy the entrepreneurial side of the role, working collaboratively with the Managing Director and wider team to develop new initiatives, expand the business, and enhance the company's service offering. Requirements
* Proven experience in a senior HR leadership position such as Head of HR, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Consultant
* CIPD qualified
* Confident managing the full HR lifecycle, day‑to‑day HR operations, and complex employee relations cases
* Strategic thinker with the ability to build, maintain, and influence strong client relationships
* Commercially minded with enthusiasm and confidence to engage in commercial conversations and contribute to business growth
* Experience coaching colleagues and working effectively within a collaborative team environment
* Excellent understanding of UK employment law, HR best practice, and compliance
* Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle to travel to client sites
