Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrically Biased)
Location: Gateshead
Salary: £52,500 per annum
Hours: 4 on 4 off – 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am (rotating shifts)
We’re looking for a talented Multi Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join a leading manufacturing business in Gateshead.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out engineering tasks in line with PPM schedules and targets
* Respond promptly to breakdowns and prioritise repair work effectively
* Monitor machine performance and support improvements in efficiency
* Work closely with planning teams to coordinate machine availability
* Provide technical support to production teams as required
* Support external contractors on site when needed
* Ensure all documentation and sign-offs are completed accurately
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety at all times
About You:
* Time-served engineer with relevant qualifications (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent)
* Strong electrical fault-finding skills with mechanical knowledge
* Able to safely isolate, access, and work within control panels
* Experienced in fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environments
* Able to fully strip, reassemble, and adjust production machinery
* PC literate and comfortable using maintenance systems
* Proactive, reliable, and team-oriented with a hands-on approach
