Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established and expanding accountancy practice in Kent to recruit a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant. Key duties of a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant:
1. Prepare year-end statutory accounts for a range of SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
2. Assist with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts.
3. Prepare basic corporate and personal tax returns.
4. Support senior staff during client meetings and with technical queries.
5. Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
6. Help mentor trainee staff (for Senior level applicants).
7. Contribute to workflow efficiency and support the smooth running of the practice.
Qualifications to succeed as a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant:
8. AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience.
9. Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
10. Strong understanding of accounts preparation and general practice duties.
11. Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills.
12. Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
13. Knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) is advantageous.
