The Royal Wolverhampton Trust, Obstetrics & Gynaecology department are seeking to recruit 2 Junior Clinical Fellows for a fixed term period of 6 months.
This post is for ST1-2 level doctor experienced to work on the SHO tier at New Cross Hospital, Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. They are suitable for doctors who have completed F2 training.
As these are short term posts, previous UK NHS experience is essential.
The postholders will be required to contribute to a 48 hour EWTD full shift rota. The remainder of the job plan each week will consist of general duties on Labour Ward, triage, emergency gynaecology.


Main duties of the job

* To support the inpatient service in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at New Cross Hospital.
* In conjunction with colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.
* Duties will involve labour ward and emergency gynaecology cover, antenatal/postnatal/gynaecology ward work. The post holder will be responsible for the clinical care of Obstetric and Gynaecological patients under supervision as necessary.
* The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of proper case records and investigations on patients, and correspondence with General Practitioners and others as required.
* General elements: To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care; To be able to work flexibly, and cross cover for colleagues; To provide cover for colleagues as appropriate and in accordance with local Trust arrangements and Trust Policy; To observe the Trust's agreed policies and procedures; To take responsibility for your own health and safety complying with any safe working arrangements, policies and procedures which are in place; To accept a duty to other staff and patients to ensure that any hazards are reported and managed appropriately; To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of patients to be able to contact you when necessary.

Job description

Junior Medical Staff should ensure that only 2 members of each rota is on leave at one time. Approval for leave is at the discretion of the relevant Consultants and is department on continuity of patient care.
Applicants must, by the date of application, have Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice.
The appointment is subject to satisfactory health clearance and clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service (Enhanced DBS).
The appointed doctor accepts that he/she will perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at Consultant request, though resident doctors will not be required to undertake this work for prolonged periods on a regular basis.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* Full GMC registration
* MB BS (or equivalent)


Experience

* UK experience in NHS
* Completed foundation training F1 & F2


Research

* Evidence of clinical research / audit / guidelines / service improvement projects


Desirable

* Previous experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and evidence of commitment to the specialty
