Job overview
This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an SAS (Specialty) Doctor or a Doctor with experience equivalent to an ST4 Trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to have a focused 3-5 year post with the aim of achieving entry to the specialist register at the end.
The successful applicant will work closely with their educational supervisor with support from the College Tutor and Associate Medical Director for Women’s Health to ensure that they progress in their training in line with the expectations for doctor’s in training as set out by the RCOG (Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology) matrix.
Main duties of the job
To improve clinical skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology starting at Specialty Doctor level with view to gaining entry to the Specialist Register after 4-5 years.
To engage in teaching, research, audit and quality improvement activities.
Progression will be subject to the competencies as per the RCOG training matrix. Continuing employment will be subject to annual review and achieving entry onto the specialist register does not guarantee a long term post at EKHUFT. It is however our intention for the successful applicant to stay long term.
Application for SITM’s will be via the Training Programme Director in KSS with support from the educational supervisor and college tutor at QEQM.
