After successfully completing your probation period, your hourly rate increases to £13.75 (£26,526.23 pro rata).</p><h3>Service setting</h3><p>The East Lothian service supports people in Haddington, Tranent & Musselburgh. The role involves supporting 8 people, including 2 Houses of Multiple Occupancy with 3 people each and 2 people in their own flats. This includes 24‑hour support with sleepover and longer shifts.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Work with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.</li><li>Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.</li><li>Be responsible in supporting individuals throughout activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.</li><li>Update and maintain accurate records using a tablet on Arks Information Management system.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Prior experience as a Care Worker, Social Worker, Home Carer, Case Worker, Care Assistant, Autism Support Worker, Personal Care Assistant or Social Care Worker (advantage but not essential; full training will be provided).</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Annual Leave Buy & Sell Scheme – Employees can sell or buy additional annual leave, up to a maximum of 5 days (or 1 working week for part‑time staff) per year.</li><li>Up to 36 days paid holiday per year pro rata.</li><li>4% contributory pension scheme.</li><li>Cycling to Work Scheme.</li><li>Fully funded PVG & 1st year SSSC registration paid by Ark.</li></ul><p>This role may also be referred to as Support Worker, Care Assistant or Care Worker in other organisations.</p><p>Applications are restricted to female candidates only in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, part 1).</p></div>
