As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be Leading the commercial reactive works team and assisting the operational side to ensure successful delivery of the Framework contracts. while maintaining both internal and client relationships, to maximise commercial returns & manage risk. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have the following accountabilities: Integrate the commercial strategy, amending with MQS/CM to suit the project/portfolio as it develops. Liaise with & commercially influence/challenge the other members of the team and the construction process. Take ownership for, administer & represent Sisk in commercial & contractual issues, including but not limited to: Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate s/c & finalising s/c orders, financial & commercially manage to Final Account completion. Prepare & present forecasts, targets & CV reconciliations. Prepare & agree valuations, including generating certificates & invoice/payments. Variations prepare with adequate/appropriate records, agree as works progress. Update projected Final Accounts on regular basis and prepare, submit & agree Final Account in a timely manner. Involvement in value engineering & design development Uploading CVR to Portfolio Dashboard Maintain & protect JSS commercial & contractual entitlement Prelim controls/monitoring - establish & maintain with support from JSS Rail Cost Manager Site records/admin & document control through Geopal or other applicable systems Insurance & warranties – ensure adequate protection of JSS (from Supply chain and to client) and utilisation where necessary. Minimise Risk and maximise realisation of opportunity through a MIP Plan for each project where require under Valuation Policy. Review & update project risk/opportunity plan, monitoring for changes & consider within any forecast reports Manage risk arising Manage opportunity Oversee a team of QS / AQS / CA to deliver works. Ensure a career development plan is in place (agreed with MQS / CM) for each member of the team. Attend Client facing project and programme update meetings utilising Care, Integrity and Excellence at all times. Ability to communicate articulately, both verbally & in writing Manage both people & situations sensitively & to commercial advantage. Commercially inventive & astute Demonstrate ownership and commercial awareness. Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills Have experience mentoring and managing others. Able to balance the need to be assertive and pragmatic, when dealing with stakeholders Able to manage complex projects. Able to conduct negotiations in relation to a range of issues on a project and secure acceptable commercial results. Able to draft contractual and commercially sensitive correspondence and reports regularly. Effectively tailors’ communications to local audiences and can articulate complex ideas and facts into a simple structure in most situations Has a knowledge of bonds, guarantees, warranties, insurances, letters of intent and other common contractual mechanisms Lead the procurement, negotiation and letting of complex sub-contracts. Can supervise the preparation of documents for complex main contracts Have experience of managing contracts using schedule of rates. Desirable Experience: Experience of NEC 3 and/or 4. Experience of Network Rail Contract Suite.
