Site Construction Supervisor – SSEN Transmission
Base Location: Site‑based role on mainland Scotland, with occasional visits to the Isle of Lewis.
Salary: £43,704 – £51,484 + remote living allowance (where applicable) plus a range of benefits.
Working Pattern: Permanent, Full Time, Site Based.
The role: Ensure site activities are carried out safely and to the required quality. Oversee cabling installation, duct installation, joint bay construction, horizontal directional drilling, cable installation and jointing along an 85 km on‑land route between Beauly and Dundonnell on the West coast of Scotland.
You will
* Represent the SSEN Transmission business on‑site as the key point of contact, ensuring suppliers carry out works in line with contractual requirements and SSEN policies, measuring completed works against works information for payment purposes and managing compensation events.
* Ensure the project is executed in accordance with statutory and legal obligations, health and safety, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, quality & technical compliance, personnel and industrial relations.
* Work closely with the appointed contractor(s) and the Operations team to deliver works to the programme, safely and responsibly.
* Act as a leader on site and champion a positive safety culture; ensure site activities comply with planning consents and SHE legislation, and submit routine reports and KPIs to the Project Manager.
You have
* A solid understanding of engineering and construction practices, including site safety and compliance with CDM regulations.
* Proven experience in site supervision or construction on complex infrastructure or utilities projects; experience in underground cabling works is an advantage.
* Knowledge of project planning, with experience monitoring progress against plans and implementing inspection and test plans to ensure quality.
* Confidence using computer systems, particularly common Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) applications.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to track site progress and issues and represent the project team internally and externally.
* A full current driving licence is essential.
