SCUK Product Development Specialist | 9-12 month FTC Country: United Kingdom The key purpose of this role is to support new product development, drive commercial success of the SCUK product portfolio and assist in meeting the stringent governance and oversight requirements that come with managing the portfolio. You will take an active part in supporting the setting of product strategy, and working with management will set out the objectives required to deliver a class leading proposition that stands SCUK out as a leading motor finance company. Responsibilities will include: Working toward set strategic priorities and day-to-day operational activity to ensure actions are aligned to the organisation’s broader goals and objectives Delivering commercial goals, identifying distribution channels and actioning activity to maximise each opportunity Management of the existing portfolio and planning the ongoing governance/oversight Establish and manage strong working relationship’s within the SCUK Marketing department, as well as other SCUK business functions, OEM partners, Dealer partners and 3rd party suppliers Work with management to identify opportunity and develop products/ services that deliver good customer outcomes Support with managing existing products and services, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements Support with the development of new products and services, ensuring compliance, and planning the monitoring of those products and services to ensure they perform Utilise appropriate insight (industry, business, customer and technological etc) to drive continual improvement and differentiate our extended product proposition to generate added value to the organisation’s Customers, OEM partners and Dealers Ensure the way products are developed are aligned to the overall business values of Simple, Personal, Fair and the meet the needs of Consumer Duty Support management to ensure that all products and services have been through the required governance and continue to meet the required standards of the organisation Working with management, closely manage and document all risks associated with the development of new product and the ongoing oversight of existing products. Ensure a holistic approach to risk management from product development and inception, to distribution, through live agreement/policy until end of contract. This includes all aspects of the product fulfilment including suppliers, distributors, customers and internal business function Escalate any identified risks in relation to SCUK risk policies and legislative/regulatory guidelines in accordance with the San UK group risk framework What we’re looking for: Experience working within motor related financial services and a full, detailed working knowledge of the products commonly offered in the marketplace Sound commercial awareness, with experience of being able to quickly understand the drivers of profitability in a business Previous experience of end-to-end product development protocols and knowledge of all phases of the delivery cycle from research through development to launch Experience working in an organisation where there is multiple stakeholder management (both internal and external) Able to produce sound working documentation and presentations, including business case proposals and requirements, briefs and presentations Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the motor finance market sector Proven ability to negotiate and influence both internally and externally Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and present to both internal and external stakeholders across all levels Able to develop both coherent high-level strategic and detailed activity level plans Strong time management skills by delivering activity through effective prioritisation Working knowledge of the marketing mix the importance of product and promotion, and the differences that the B2B, B2C and B2B2C channels present A solid understanding of legal, regulatory and compliance framework Inclusion At Santander we’re creating a thriving workplace where all colleagues feel they belong and are supported to succeed.
