Job Title: Kitchen Porter/Assistant
Location: Somerhill School Tonbridge
Contract Type: Term time 39 weeks
Salary: 12.21 per hour
About the role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter/Assistant to join the kitchen team at the school. This is a great opportunity to help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment in a food-led education setting. You will be joining Holroyd Howe, one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges. We tailor our catering service to suit children of all ages to meet the bespoke requirements of each school.

Key Responsibilities
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
* Assist chefs with basic food preparation and stock deliveries
* Operate dishwashers and ensure proper sanitation practices
* Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times
* Support the team in daily kitchen operations and setup for service
Qualifications
* A keen interest in food and cooking, eager to learn and develop skills
* Good attention to detail and understanding of hygiene practices
* Team player with a positive and flexible attitude
* Previous kitchen experience or relevant training is beneficial but not essential
* Willingness to work in an education or high-profile catering environment is desirable
