The Safer Community Security Officer patrols the client site and parts of Norwich City Centre to ensure the safety of clients, employees and property. A DS licence is required due to the nature of the role.
Shift pattern: Monday – Friday, 12 hour shifts, 60 hours per week. Pay rate: £14.57 per hour.
Responsibilities
* Protect our customer’s property, people and assets by delivering security services in direct accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent changes.
* Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer, taking full responsibility and accountability to support contract retention.
* Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
Main duties
* Operations: Ensure compliance with all policies and applicable legal/regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
* Fully complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AIs).
* Review published AIs regularly, suggesting amendments to improve or enhance service where appropriate.
* Maintain compliance with industry and statutory legislation (a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision is required) and wear it at all times while carrying out duties. A CCTV PSS SIA Licence is required by the customer; additional contractual courses may be required.
* Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
* Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessary challenges to authority.
* Work in a systematic, methodical and orderly way.
Training
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
* Undertake additional training as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key objectives and develop professional knowledge through ongoing development.
* Ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security & Health & Safety
* Identify and report any Health & Safety hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
* Maintain professional conduct in challenging situations and with customers.
* Keep an incident notebook and complete incident reports as required.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slots as per the AI.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report incidents.
