Your newpanyHays Construction is working alongside an established contractor, with over 100 years of expertise in delivering projects across the UK. Our client is now seeking a H&S Advisor to join theirpany on a long-term for a minimum of 6 months, and also the possibility of a permanent position.
A multi-site project, all based locally in Yorkshire & Humber, with hybrid working.
This role is working in a high security environment, so you must be able to pass vetting and security clearance upon start.
Your new roleAs a H&S Advisor, you will play a key role in shaping and driving the strategic development of the department. You will help maintain and continuously improve thepany's excellent health and safety, environmental and sustainability records by:
1. Ensurepany-widepliance with all relevant legislation and standards acrosspany sites
2. Provide advice, support, and guidance to staff
3. Act as the key point of contact for all H&S matters
4. Lead the management and maintenance of H&S systems to ISO 45001 and 14001 standards, in line with construction industry specific requirements.
5. Identify, organise and, where required, deliver training
6. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting, analysis and corrective action
7. Develop and oversee all SHE project plans including Construction Phase Plans and RAMS
8. Maintain accurate SHE documentation and records
9. Stay informed on relevant legislative and regulatory changes
10. Conduct and monitor site inspections and audits
11. SHE reporting, analysis andpliance rmendations
12. Promote continuous improvement in SHE performance
What you'll need to succeed
13. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
14. Minimum of 5 years H&S/SHE experience within the construction sector
15. In-depth knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and relevant ISO standards
16. Strong ICT skills including Microsoft Office suite
17. Excellent organisational,munication, and interpersonal skills
18. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders
19. Full UK Driver’s Licence
