Long-term freelance opportunities inside IR35 exists for experienced Sub Agents who have progressed through the ranks from Site Engineer to Section Engineer to Sub Agent on major civil engineering infrastructure/rail projects for tier one or principal Contractors. Your proven delivery experience on viaducts/bridges/stations/earthworks etc on Network Rail projects would be advantageous but not essential.
Your duties will include -
Oversee and guide Section, Site and Assistant Engineers to ensure effective engineering control and the proper documentation of activities.
Foster positive relationships with stakeholder and joint venture partners as well as the supply chain.
Encourage a cost-conscious mindset by efficiently utilizing company resources.
Assist the Agent in managing the cost system, creating schedules and preparing Quality Files.
Collaborate with commercial staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of records for measurement and payment purposes.
Promote the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to meet project BIM Execution Plan requirements.
Aid the Agent in procuring necessary materials, sub-contracts and equipment in a timely manner.
Regularly review the performance, development and training needs of subordinate staff with the Agent.
Provide the Agent with insights into potential commercial or contractual liabilities.
Demonstrate a personal commitment to HSE standards by adhering to company policies through the implementation of method statements, risk assessments and briefings.
Requirement for this post include –
A tertiary civil engineering qualification (HND, BSc)
Extensive tier one delivery experience on large rail projects preferred
Recent tier one JV type project experience
Proven progression through the engineering ranks from Site Engineer upwards
CSCS MAP, SSSTS, First Aid,
PTS would be advantageous but not essential.
